I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS) with over a decade of counseling experience in a variety of environments, from K-12 schools to a residential substance use treatment facility and health clinics. My most recent job prior to expanding my private practice and consultation business was serving as Director of Counseling and Wellness at a small liberal arts college.

I believe that the remedy for shame, fear, anxiety and all sorts of unpleasant feelings is talking about them in safe spaces. A strengths based approach is the foundation of my work. I believe that everyone can benefit from therapy! It can be big work, but can also be fun. We can hold space for laughter and tears, whatever is needed at any given time. Therapy can be a great tool for getting back on track. And if you need help creating your desired track, we can work on that too. I am not a ‘sit and nod’ type of therapist, sessions with me are interactive. We will collaborate to create an individualized treatment plan to address your specific goals and concerns.

As far as formal education goes, I have a degree in Intercultural Communication and Counseling (Integrative Studies) from Warren Wilson College and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Georgia in Athens.   Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialists (LCAS) must do a certain number of continuing education hours every two years to keep our professional licenses current. Folks that work with me are highly likely to hear my enthusiasm around whatever training I have recently completed, as I seek out practical and helpful trainings which will serve my people well and tend to get very excited about this! It is important to me to equip you with tangible skills to help as well as to be a sounding board.

I utilize a variety of effective evidence based approaches based on individual needs and preferences, including expressive arts therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, mindfulness, and play therapy. I am a neurodivergent and LGBTQ* affirming provider.

In my spare time, I love curling up with a good book, enjoying beautiful Western North Carolina, road tripping, and spending time with my family.
